FisherPoets Gathering

  • FisherPoets Gathering Astoria, Oregon (map)

Exhibition viewing:
Friday-Sunday at the FisherPoets Gearshack
1254 Commercial St.

The exhibit will be open for viewing for the entire weekend, but I will be at the exhibit 2-3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, if you'd like to come by and ask questions or share your thoughts.

I am also going to be doing a reading both Friday and Satruday nights. I'll be reading a short collection of a mixture of poetry and prose, all inspired by honoring the memories of the crew. My sets are scheduled for:

  • 6 p.m., Friday, February 26 at KALA (second reading)
  • 7 p.m., Saturday, February 27 at the Astoria Event Center (third reading)

And lastly, Jon Broderick, the talented singer-songwriter and fisherman who is the mastermind behind the scenes at FisherPoets, has composed a song to honor the Investor crew. Jon has written some wonderful songs, some ballads and some not. He says this song is not a ballad, but that he tries to honor the victims.

Jon says, "I think we'll give it a go Friday night during our 8 p.m. set. That'll be on local public radio KMUN 91.9 FM which also streams live atwww.coastradio.org."
