Presentation: Prince of Wales Whalefest

Friday, April 1, 2016
7:30 p.m.
Hill Bar in Craig, AK

Please come to an evening presentation and discussion for the photo exhibition, "Lost At Sea: Remembering the Victims of the F/V Investor Murders."

The exhibition features family photographs of the eight victims, all of whom were killed on a purse seiner in September 1982, here in Craig. The event is hosted by Brittany Retherford, an independent journalist who has been examining the tragedy for the past several years and who has curated the exhibit.

The event is designed to open the conversation about loss and healing in general, especially in small close-knit communities. The exhibit opened at Water Street Cafe in Craig in December, and has since traveled to Ketchikan Astoria, and Sitka. This is also an opportunity for Craig residents to learn more about a horrific event that happened here, even though the victims were all from out of state.

If you would like to learn more about the project, please join the group or visit

Also, feel free to message Brittany directly or give her a call at (907) 799-5652.

This project is supported in part by a grant from the Alaska Humanities Forum and the National Endowment for the Humanities, a federal agency. Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this exhibition do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
